DISAPPOINTMENT

DISAPPOINTMENT

He tried to clone me as his lost love
by dressing me in his Swan dry
and his faded blue jeans.
His love of long dark hair;
he'd kiss my dark tresses sometimes
while I was at the kitchen sink.
He spoke of camping in the outback
of water skiing; his speedboat;
of fishing in lagoons. His hunting.
Sky diving and the way she cooked.
I'd stop a moment to think.
Memories of his past.
I looked at him puzzled
When he finished I asked'
"How come we live such bloody
Boring lives now?" His answer
"Been there done that!"

The best times of my life
were camping; hunting and
fishing with my dad;
And watching the Billy boil.
Cooking fresh trout over a rack.
The sound of the lake as
I dipped the oars and the Thrill
of the trout whirling the rod.
Scrambling over the rocks
stalking the fish to see
where it stops to rest.
I looked at him and wondered
What the HELL am I doing here
With Him. The future looks dim.
Where has the excitement gone?
Sheer Disappointment.
