Our Saviour Part Ten.

At Tiberius, Simon Peter went fishing
But his good luck was not in store.
From the beach Jesus Christ instructed
And their net hauled in fish galore.

Christ appeared many times to his disciples
To teach them the way of the cross,
That life can be eternal for all
And to save the lamb that is lost.

God gave his only begotten son Jesus
To die on the cross for all,
That through him, we will live forever
And open our ears to hear his call.

The life and death of Christ
Is found in the testaments new,
All told by his twelve disciples
To give life and love to you.

Our Saviour part nine.

Now the disciples met in a room
And Jesus before them appeared.
His body was of flesh and blood
And full of love for them he cared.

He joined with them in their supper
By eating a piece of broiled fish.
He opened their eyes to the scriptures
So they could carry out God's wish.

To doubting Thomas eight days later
Our Lord did again appear,
Made him touch his hands and feet
And at his side the mark of a spear.

OUR SAVIOUR part eight

Two disciples on their way to Emmaus
Met a stranger on the road'
They told him of Jesus' crucifixion
And asked him to their abode.

At Their table he took the loaf of bread
He then blessed it and broke it in two.
Their eyes were opened to recognise him
And he vanished into the blue.

Saviour seven

When the two Marys came to anoint him
The earth shook to and fro.
On the stone appeared an angel of the Lord
Like lightening and rainment of snow

"Don't be afraid for he has risen.
Come! see the place where he lay.
Now go and tell his eleven disciples
For there is joy in the world today."

John reached the tomb, before Peter
And saw the linen folded within.
Jesus Christ has truly risen this day
To save the people from sin.

Mary Magdalene stood out side weeping,
Stooped into the tomb for a peek.
From behind her a gardener said,
"Weeping woman whom do you seek?"

"I seek my Lord and my Master.
But I don't know where he may lay."
"Mary," said he. "Rab-boni." She cried.
"Go and tell, what you have witness today."

Saviour six

All around the sky grew dark and eerie
The thunder and lightening crashed,
The soldiers tossed coins for his robes
And in their armour reflections flashed.

The sun disappeared, all was dark
Yet..... time was still day light
Three silhouette crosses on top of a hill
In the distances people cringed in fright.

Judas was remorsed for the evil he had done
With horror in his heavy heart, he fled.
He found a tree and hung himself
And the whole world declared him dead.

The sixth and nineth hour came
And the land had become very dark.
But Jesus Christ who had lived and died
Had left this world with God's mark.

Behold, the temple curtain was torn
And the earth and rocks were split.
Bodies of Saints arose from their graves
(Matthew 27-52)
But still the earth was as dark as pit.

When the centurion and those with him
Saw all around, what had taken place,
Cried "Truly this was the Son of God."
And they ran away to hide their face.

Joseph Arimathea asked Pilate for Jesus' body
Not a bone of Our Lord was broken,
They then lifted him carefully from the cross
And to a cold stone tomb he was taken.

Nicodemus carefully bound him in spiced linen
(John 19-39)
With Aloes and sweet Myrrh mixture.
They both gently carried him into the garden
and into a Tomb with a stone door fixture.

Saviour part 5

Christ was tortured and to Pilate was taken
"Viva Barrabas," the crowd cried.
Pontuis Pilate washed his hands of the crime
And Jesus was given to be crucified.

Jesus struggled with his heavy wooden cross
And St Veronica handkerchief his sweated brow,
( from Catholic Doctrine)
Then the Simon of Cyrene carried the cross
Up the cobbled path, towards the hilly brow.

Two other ragged men with him were crucified
at the top of that dreaded Calvary Hill
One was a murderer...... the other was a thief
But this was the rioting crowd's will.

He thirst and was given a sponge of sour vinegar
And forgave the repentant man on his side.
He prayed to his father, while the soldiers watched
And he kept praying quietly....... until he died.

Silently his followers and loyal disciples watched
And they prayed for his spirit to be taken.
With a sign of I.N.R.I above his crown of thorns
Jesus cried," Father, why am I forsaken."

There on the rugged, wooden cross, Jesus died
Christ, The King of the Jews died for us
The Roman soldier's spear pierced his side
To make sure for they did..... not trust.

Our Saviour part 4

Evil men , all watchful and scheming
Out of fear, with jealousy and hate.
They came to torture Christ, the Lord
But clairvoyant Jesus knew his fate.

(clairvoyant comes from Saint Clare)

He walked on water; preached and sang,
He broke bread and with wine he did drink
"Do this please, often remembrance of me
And on the Sabbath stop work to think.

Cut branches of palms they set before him
While on a grey donkey's back he rode,
Fulfilling the prophecies of Old testament
Towards the city of Jerusalem, his Abode.

The time had come........... this he knew
And he went into the garden to pray,
But his three disciples fell asleep
And did not hear what he had to say.

To kiss Jesus Christ's tear stained cheek
Judas the Iscariot and Roman soldiers came.
Peter denied him thrice with every crow
Then cut off a soldiers ear and cried in shame.
