Memories

Memories

Two days before I was going to go
I went to watch the waves come in so.
There I sat upon the sand so cold and grey
And watched those white waves break on the bay.
There I watched the sun rise beyond the hill
Giving me a kind of sweet, gentle thrill.
And the grey wood lay on the beach
Each one out of that green sea's reach.
The seagulls fly away from me
Out towards that cold green sea
The sun grows stronger as be breaks thru a cloud
Top show the large old World that he is proud
To be the sun that God first made
To help the World in all its aid.
From growing cold each and every day
and making more sea on our cold, grey bay.

Etc ..... wrote this 1961 HA! before leaving home for the first time.

A Country Garden

A Country Garden,
Down the orange brick path I walk
Pansy faces watch me pass by
Greeting snapdragons balance on stalks
In the distance a starling 's cry.

The Hollyhocks, Delphiniums and Foxgloves too
Carnations; Inpatients;Dianthus pink.
The Blue bells, Hyacinths and Lobelia blue
shoulder of Begonias link.

The Roses are graceful and tell
Peace; Deep secret; First love; Yabadoo.
A yellow Bansksia  climbs the wall
Dorothy Perkins; hot chocolate and Peekaboo.

Lots of hard work; energy and compost used
plus Blood and bone and friendly sprays
All reaped and reward a new
A view enjoyed on lazy days.
